What’s my IP address?

Your public (WAN) IP address is the address websites and services see when you connect. Here it is, with the network it belongs to.

Public and private IP addresses

Devices on your network use private addresses such as 192.168.1.20 or 10.20.0.15. Your router or firewall uses NAT to share one public address among all of them. That public address is what this page shows.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this different from the WAN IP on my router?

If your router’s WAN address is in 100.64.0.0/10, or is a private address, your ISP is using carrier-grade NAT. The address here is the shared public one your traffic leaves from.

Why do I see my company’s or VPN’s address?

If you connect through a VPN, a cloud security proxy or a corporate internet breakout, websites see that service’s address instead of your own line.

Why is the location wrong?

IP location comes from databases that map address ranges to places. It is usually right for the country and often only approximate for the city.

Does this show IPv4 or IPv6?

It shows whichever your browser used to reach this site. If your connection supports IPv6, you will usually see an IPv6 address.

Is my IP address stored?

No. It is shown back to you and not logged or stored by this site.
